Hi everyone,
New to the area and mountain biking.
Is boyd pond manned? What are the opening hours? Is the trail one way? if so are there signs indicating the start of the trail? Any other pertinent information I should know?
Thanks in advance!

short answers are no, daylight, no, not really, and see below. The park is now owned by Aiken County Parks and Rec, I believe. There are usually people at the ball fields and someone walking around the lake. It also has a radio-control race car track, which is pretty cool. And they have programs at the observatory on occasion, though I have never been to one. The trail is somewhat hard to follow, so it is best to have a guide the first time. Post a couple of options for your ride here and I'm sure someone will volunteer. Give me some warning and I will come over after work (start about 6pm). We have ridden the trail at night, but the gates say the park is closed at dark. The trail is short but a hard workout. Read all the other posts on this topic to get more info.

like jtaylor said, drop a line here, and I am sure that we can get something going. There are a couple of locals that would be happy to show you around.

thanks guys!
I dont even have a bike at the moment so can't tell ye when I'll be riding! wasnt able to bring my bike with me when I came here. Going shopping this weekend, I like the look of the Giant Talon 29er 2 at Andy Jordans in Augusta, I've heard they have a good shop.
Thanks for the advice on the trail. Will hopefully meet some of ye at some stage
