Where in KY you from?
KY will generally have bigger hills than we do. I've ridden around Morehead and Fort Duffield in L'ville. We don't have hills like those hills. Cap View in Frankfort has a few hills, but is generally a good comparison. I've never been there, but friends from KY tell me that the trails around here are very similar to the trails at LBL.
Best trails open now, in no particular order: Turkey Creek, Wine Creek, Modoc, Horn Creek, Keg Creek, Bartram Trail, Hickory Knob.
Best trails to reopen Spring 2007: FATS.

You should ride Wine Creek, Turkey Creek, Modoc, Lick Fork, Baker Creek State Park, Hickory Knob State Park, and FATS first. These are all more challenging than Mistletoe, Bartram, Keg Creek and Canal trail. You can also ride Parsons Mtn and ORA, but both aren't worth the drive that you'd have to make considering there are closer trails to you. If you don't like any of those, then you need to go somewhere else. BTW There isn't a "BEST" trail. Some may say it's FATS while others may say Canal . I'm sure I'll catch some flack for that statement. I just feel that they're all the "Best" trail because there are so many and they're all so close. Actually the best trail is when you link them all up for one big long trail. Everyone has their favorite, but you should ride them all and choose for yourself.

We are fortunate to have so many trails within a short driving distance. Sunday is the Explore the Trail Ride at Hickory Knob State Park. The ride starts at 1:00 p.m., and we will leave from the trailhead at the red barn. We just had a work party on that trail on February 17, and the trail is in great shape. If you show up for the ride, you will see the trail and meet a lot of wonderful people.
