Just saw on the news that if the Government shuts down the Army Corp of Eng. campgrounds at Lake Thurman will be closed starting tomorrow. These include Petersbourg, Modoc, Hamilton which are popular to mt. bikers as a base camp for FATS.
workers were posting signs at the campgrounds today.

Paul and Dale just cleared the 23 trees that were down from Petersburg to West Dam and we are heading up to check out the other side in just a few minutes.
Waiting for word on FATS from the USFS we are in contact with them (since FATS is considered a semi-improved area)...........will post as soon as we get the official word!

Saw on, I believe CNN, that things like hiking trails would remain open since they do not require a payed employee.

CNN says they have reached an agreement and a shutdown has been averted 11:07 P.M.
