A buddy and I are planning on going up to mtn bike in Tsali in a few weeks / months. Anyone have any good recommendations on a place to stay that is cheap, a cabin, and close to trails? We found some nice stuff in the N GA mtns but I'd almost prefer to go to Tsali if we've gotta drive that far.
Also, what trails are absolutely mandatory for a day and a half?

Try Freeman's Motel & Cottages. They are located about half way up the hill on the right just before the entrance to Tsali. We stayed in one of the cottages for the GAF. They have motel rooms, too. The cottages were decent and very close to Tsali.-M

Awesome, thanks. They actually have a vacancy and it's cheap as hell. Appreciate it,

Did you ride Dupont SF while you were there? The slickrock pictures make it look amazing. Trying to figure out where else to ride besides Tsali while we're there and it may be at the top of our list.

We tried to ride Dupont, but it rained the whole time. The bikes got a good "bath". Instead we toured the Highland Brewery in Asheville and drank some good beer as well as looked for a place to get "hitched" this fall. So it wasn't a total letdown. Hope to head back up there soon.-M

Man that was a fun trip. I posted some pics on the Spotted web site, check them out if you're interested in going to Tsali. spotted.augusta.com/display.html?event=0&gallery=14610&page=1Forecasts showed rain so we got away with almost no crowds and had a total blast! Freeman's was a great choice, thanks for the recommendation. A little moldy-smelling, but cheap and best location possible

Glad you guys had a great time. Trails look to be in decent shape. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. Man do they take me back! I can almost feel the breeze at the Left Loop Overlook. ;D We stayed in the cabins at the bottom of the hill and they definitely had a funky smell when you first walked in!-M
