Funny that this was brought up today. I was out running errands today when I saw a SORBA-CSRA member and employee of a local bike shop out on the road, but the funny thing (well, not really funny) was that this person was not following the rules of the road. Kinda hard to complain about the attitudes of drivers towards bicyclists when the bicyclists (especially ones who should know better) have the wrong attitudes as well

I dont even understand why its a question. Its not hard to slow down for a maximum of 2 minutes for a human being on a bicycle to be safe, ESPECIALLY while the driver is protected by several airbags and sheet metal.
I dont ride a road bike, but Ive always shown more respect for a human being on a bicycle while I sit comfortably in my car with the A/C blowing.

dgaddis:
There was a 4-way stop sign with multiple vehicles stopped at 3 of the 4 signs. The biker passed at least 2 cars (on the wrong side), and blew through the intersection without even slowing down, as someone (who had the right of way) was attempting to turn left into the lane he (the bicyclist) was traveling. The scary thing was that the bicyclist appeared out of nowhere, and if something would have happened, it would have been his fault.
I was just thinking that it was unfortunate that someone who should know better would take such action, as it makes the rest of us look bad and doesn't help our cause of educating the public

It's the few numbskulls in any group that make hard on us all. I hear it all the time from my customers when they realize I ride a bicycle. "i got behind a whole bunch of them bicycles and they wouldn't move over"

KConner,
I caught wind of this while at work today. I need to ask that if this was an employee at Chain Reaction, will you please contact me here, PM, or call the shop?
Thanks, Todd Erskine

After further investigation and interrogation of all employees of Chain Reaction, I can confidently say that it was not one of our employees. It was, however, one of our customers with a CR jersey on. Thanks to anyone who reports any type of this behavior to us. The only way that road cycling will get any better and safer is if we police ourselves and unite to help the cause. If anyone ever sees an employee of our shop riding in any manner that does not comply with the law, please don't hesitate to contact us here at the shop. 706-855-2024
Thanks, Todd Erskine
