My wife surprised me with a light for the bike Christmas and have been itching to use it, besides in my yard. With 4 kids and my wife recovering from surgery it has been hard to find an evening to ride. So I figured I could ride the other spectrum.....
Got out of bed and was out the house by 5:30. After a quick stop for gas and coffee I hit the trail head and was on the saddle by 6am. Figured since this was the first night, really pre-dawn ride I would do an easy very familiar trail, Bartram. Took it easy for the first few miles after being spooked by the Boogie Man (or were those shadows?) and than after getting a little comfortable riding the tunnel of light, started to spin a bit more. Enjoyed the Lake Springs Loop a lot, it is a little more old school style, and even saw a few flakes, as in snow.
After an hour the darkness started to fade with the new morning. Got to West Dam,the end of the trail and turned around to ride back to the car. On the way back spooked a few deer. Completed 16.3 miles just 15 minutes after sunrise. Great start for the day.
I guess my early morning rides have just become earlier ;D

Tend to ride Saturday early mornings. since Thanksgiving it has been crazy her with the holidays and wife recovering. Only had 34 miles and three rides last month.
In a few weeks should be back to normal and the breakfast club should be rolling again.
