Jolly Green Giant rides for the first time. Yes my dip into the 29er world. Did a quick ride at FATS Thursday night. A couple of pleasant surprises; it climbed and accelerated better than my Heckler and it handles the tight stuff with no issues. A few minor suspension adjustments and cut down the 31" bars and it will be ready for years of fun. The basics: Intense Tracer 29 with a Reba 140mm fork, XT with XTR shifters, MTX 33 rims laced to Dt440 hubs and formula The Ones brakes. Biggest problem: it is a big bike. It wouldn't fit on my rack or in the back of the truck. I had to pull out an old hitch mount rack. So there are some rack mods in the near future. See you on the trails.

Sweet! I like the name too. I look forward to riding it, er, um, I mean I look forward to seeing it on the trails soon Funny comment about the rack. I had to take a hacksaw to my Sportworks rack to get my XL 29er to fit. MD

Second ride; cut the handlebar down from 31" to 28" to match the Heckler. Much better. We rode Great Wall just before the rain started. I made it through the skinny hand cut section; I'm sold and it does climb a bit better than the Heckler. And color, I'm not typically a green person, but that is what they had in stock for the XL. When I opened up the box, I really liked the candy apple green color. I am looking forward to taking it up to Brevard at the end of the month.
