rode Keg Creek, for a change ccw and Bartram just past Pollard's. Fun ride, trail hard with all the leaves. Nice day, long shadows, poor light, past peak foliage. boulder creek bench cut at boulder creek 2 views of the rock crossing the creek i cannot ride really like this instead of removing logs low sun, long shadows at the last (ccw) creek crossing triple log ride. I removed one branch and did not try to ride it ccw. a few weeks back did it cw. first bridge on Bartram (going toward west dam) is this FATS or Bartram? really enjoy this stretch (SORBA-CSRA put this bridge in)

first bridge on Bartram (going toward west dam) I love that section, I'd like to go out there this winter sometime and build a line through that rocky creek bed, it's just too cool of a natural feature not to be able to ride it! I'll need some help, from someone with more experience doing this sort of thing, and of course we need permission from the COE. I don't think it'll be all that difficult to do. 95% of the work needed will be on the bank on the left hand side of the picture, I think the other bank is okay as it is.

I told the ACOE if we got the contract to build the trail that we would build the bridge and the line thru the creek. We didn't get the contract so it didn't get built. Pepper was ok with the building of it. But we need to get permission again, I suppose. I'd help build it for sure.

Great pics Brian. Keep them coming. If I can't get out there and ride, at least I can look at the pics. Keg is one of my favorites. I might try for Sat morning if the weather is nice.

When I was taking the pic I was thinking "that really needs to have a ride thru....." The Pollard's side is the trickier side to dig.

The really sick line is to not start next to the bridge. But to enter the creek ON THOSE BIG ROCKS! We'd have to bridge over a couple of short spans to get from one rock to the next.
I haven't been out there in a long time, but now that I look at the picture, I recall that was what I was thinking when I did the walkthru with Pepper. Her eyes got big when I explained to her. She said that would be fine as long as we also built the bridge.
I want to go back and take a look.

felt like a new trail ;D Sorta like the loops at FATS need to mix them up. Will have to keep mixing it up here.

At Keg Creek The rock crossing is called "Bedrock Crossing" and the creek you can't ride CCW is the Keg Creek. Used to ride it CW all the time but storms have created a drop off - the consequences for not making it are not pretty so I don't try it anymore. Yet -better riders than I do the move CW. Haven't seen anyone do it CCW but I'm sure it can be done.
I too had lengthy discussions with Pepper on the line through the creek parallel with the bridge. In low water conditions, the crossing would be similar to Bedrock Crossing at Keg - just one small channel of water but with underlining algae that's slicker than snot. In rainy times, I've seen the rocks completely covered with water - it's a sight.
