Phil Cohen, owner of Chain Reaction in Martinez, has offered an incentive and a great perk for SORBA-CSRA club members:
For every volunteer hour, Chain Reaction will give you $1.00 of store credit to be used for up to half of the original price of an item (labor not included), with a maximum of 200 hours of credit per year. Hours can be earned through participation in authorized SORBA-CSRA trail work parties (the work-party form needs to be filled out, turned in, and signed by a club officer) or through logging National Mountain Bike Patrol hours on the IMBA web site. The credit must be used by February 28th.
If you are not currently a member and had volunteer hours this year, you can join SORBA-CSRA before November 15th to activate that credit (bring the form to the next meeting or make sure to let us know if you join on-line).
SORBA-CSRA will provide the member volunteer hours to Chain Reaction. We will use a cut-off of November 15th, and should be able to get the info to Phil by November 22nd. So you will have November 22nd to February 28th to use your credit. If you have any work-party forms, give them to Susan Messick at the November 9th club meeting or scan and email them to suz_c at bellsouth dot net. We will figure out how to gather the Bike Patrol data from the IMBA office. If you turn in a work party report after November 15th, it will go towards next year’s hours.

This is a 2010 program that will be wrapping up as of November 15th - just need any stray volunteer forms from work parties turned in by the deadline so credit can be given! Credits must be used by February 28 2011.

Chain Reaction is once again offering store credit based on 2011 volunteer hours (trail work and National Mountain Bike Patrol). The names/hours have been given to the store- about 1,300 hours total for 79 people!! A lot more people logged hours compared to last year (2010).
The credit will be good now through March 31st. Go get yourself some goodies at a discount!

For the 3rd consecutive year, Phil Cohen and Chain Reaction Bicycles in Evans will offer Volunteer Rewards to SORBAcsra members who have volunteered to maintain our trails during 2012.
Your 2012 volunteer hours were earned by being an IMBA/SORBAcsra member and participating in authorized SORBAcsra trail work parties or by logging National Mountain Bike Patrol hours on the IMBA web site. For every hour of trail work that you volunteered, Chain Reaction will give you $1.00 of store credit to be used for up to half of the original price of an item (labor not included). Nice.
SORBAcsra has provided a list of members and their volunteer hours to Chain Reaction. In 2012, SORBAcsra had 52 members that volunteered over 1,000 hours maintaining our trails. If you are unsure of how many hours you volunteered, you can check the list at Chain Reaction or email Dave K. (dave.sorbacsra at gmail dot com) for your hours. Your credit must be used by March 1st, 2013.
Our volunteers give their time and effort because they care about our trails and mountain biking in the CSRA. These volunteer rewards are a wonderful bonus. Thank you Phil and Chain Reaction.
