Mark and I made a few trips to Pisgah(so far). It is the greatest day trip for riding ever. We left Augusta at around 6am. We were on the trails by 9:30am and did 25-30 miles of the most beautiful rewarding riding ever and made it back home before 9pm. If anyone is interested in making this trip I am dying to go back, with enough interest we could get a few car loads and caravan up?? the view descending pilot rock trail. Mark cleared this rock garden on his 1st run through. This descent had maybe 20 180 degree switch backs, steep with big rocks and loose gravel. I only made 2 or 3. The rest was dabs, dismounts, peg legging it, and just plain falling off the bike. Mark finishing up Squirrel gap Nitro and myself and a couple of the local boys at the end of the killer rock garden discussing or inability to ride most of it. NO you go first. Randy S. Our local guide for the day. Thanks dude!! Big fun in the mountains Poor guy hit his head hard on tree and then got three flats in a row. I think we talked him in to going tubeless. lots of tunnels ;D

Well I am pretty much free all week so either way, hopefully others would like to join probably making it a sat or sun day trip. I could easily lead on the trails I've done up there so far and I could try to reach out to the guys we have met up there, it was nice having a local rider along that knew all the trail options and places to bail out of the single track.

the first one we were out about 5 and a half hours and covered about 25 miles, The second trip we were out 6 hours and covered about 30 miles. Mark has all the stats as far as elevation gain, avg moving speed, etc, I am just trying to access my feeble memory. We started both rides with a climb up laurel mountain, all single track about 7 miles or so with the last mile being mostly hike a bike,BUT IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT!!!!!!
