I was up in Aiken for a couple of days and I rode the trail. I've ridden it a couple of times in the past. I like the trail and it's a really good workout. It was in pretty good condition overall, though parts of it were slow because of the pine straw, but at least those parts were smooth. The only really bad part is the last hill you come down before you hit the nature trail, it's so torn up that I wish I had a DH bike going down it. Otherwise it was great and easy to find my way.

We have a small group of guys that ride this trail after work. It is a good 40-50 min workout. The pine straw will wipe you out if you do not watch it. I agree with the last hill... tooth rattler.

It's also nice because I can bike on the trail and also do my RC car on the track that's in the park. It's a lot of fun. My sister actually doesn't like the trail because she said it was boring and too much uphill, but then again she's only 10.

+1 on all of your comments. I rode it yesterday (95% of it anyway) and it is a unique trail. I went down once when the front wheel washed out in the straw; and the climbing was brutal in the heat. I wish it was closer to my house because it is the perfect trainer trail; not too long, easy to bail if you want to, as much physical challenge as you want to make it, and technical enough to work on your skill. I'm definitely going back when it cools off some.

Mark,
Rode the trail Thursday afternoon also. That was our group of trucks at the top of the hill. Agree with you on the gullies. I am willing to help on the trails with you guys. May get some of the riding buddies to help also. Trying to ride there once a week after work. Post your thoughts.
