What does one need to do who has a spouse that would like to meet them at the airport for the food and fun, but won't ride? Is that a full registration or is a meal ticket available for a separate fee?

Thanks to everyone that participated in the 18th Annual Lock to Lock Ride! We had almost 250 riders! We greatly appreciate the support and look forward to next year's ride. Maybe we can hit 300! Thanks to all the volunteers as well and all of our sponsors! Couldn't have done it with out you!
I'll have pics on our Flickr page soon and be sure to check JayThaxton.com for pics as well. 25% of Jay's sales will go to the National Trails Day Fund. That means more funds for more projects!

Dale: A friend of the gentlemen who fell Sunday does spin with me. I asked him how he was.....shattered his hip and is still in hospital. I told Tom to tell him that folks were asking about him and wishing him well.

No cases of heat issues? I passed on the ride because of the temps and humidity, and was expecting that to impact the turnout. Looks like it didn't.

It was in the upper 80's with humidity in the 30-50% range during the ride time. Sounds pretty good to me relative to June-August.

He was only a few miles from the lock and dam on that long straight away. Kim was assisting with the situation when I came by...she may know for sure. My only guess would be he hit some of the loose dirt and lost control. Not sure of his age but he was a "seasoned citizen" and more susceptible to injury from a fall.

He was great when we built FATS. He didn't even own a MTB, he just showed up and worked. Over time, he got a MTB and learned to enjoy riding it. I've seen him around from time to time. I saw him at the L to L ride, before it started and thought he was pretty game to be doing it. Does anyone know what hospital and room he is in? I may go visit him. If you don't want to say that here, send me an email to billvictor10 at gmail dot com

Weather was great but with a bit of headwind going out between Sandbar Ferry Rd and Lock and Dam. I rode back with Lowell Dorn and he told me the story: Lowell was right behind him when he went down and rode over his rear tire. Seems like he, for some reason, made a very quick "lane" change (from one track to the other) in some heavy gravel and his wheel dished out. I heard of a couple of other folks going down on this seemingly tame ride. The young new chap who works at Andy Jordan's went down. Ask Seenvic about going down over a pothole on this ride a few years back. I'm glad A. Jordans insists on helmets on the ride. You just never know.

My GF and I had a great time, it was a little long for her (all 37) but she is still a bit new to cycling and the old saddle soreness gets to us all I suppose. I got the the accident about a minute or two after it happened. offered my help as a first responder, medic etc.. and a phone call to AJBW is what they wanted.. oh well, hope he heals well! www.jaythaxton.com/-/jaythaxton/gallery.asp?LID=&cat=68529&pID=6&row=15&photoID=10204028happy kids
