I spent about 4 hours between miles 1 and 3.5 today with the weedeater. I started out with the blade instead of string. It is slow on the grass- have to take small sweeps; is good on the bigger stuff. But I'd rather have the hedger for the bigger stuff. The hedger is more versatile for side/top branches. I put the string back on and was much happier. So I think everywhere that needed it has been "weedeated". There are a few non-rider trees down that Mark Y and I will get before the 25th. The "jaws" creek crossing is bone dry. Y'all need to ride Mistletoe then come to Modoc and ride the features that you normally walk.

Thanks for the sweat equity today and yesterday, Jon.
We hit Horn Creek today for laps and it all very rideable. We ran into a father/son walking the trail. Little did they know that if they had tried it two days earlier, it would not have been quite so pleasant!

Labor Day my 3 youngest girls and I hiked the first mile. The first two creek crossings were bone dry then. Taking it slow on the hike I was amazed at how beautiful the trail is and how many places you can see other parts of the trail.

Trail is in perfect condition. Several hikers out today. The trail has seen a bunch of traffic recently. Definitely enough to beat down some leaves.
Saw four beautiful deer out there. Kinda fun "sneakin' up on'em"

Which part of modoc is considered jaws? when we road two weeks ago it was perfect, the logs that were in the trail were certainly ride overs.

Jaws is the small creek crossing right after "the bridge to no where"
