Anyone have any semi worn out pair of shimano SPD cleats (just the cleats, not the shoes)? I'm starting to do a spin class regularly and would like to go clipless but my shoe's cleats are for Crank Bro pedals... and I didn't really want to drop $20 on cleats for a spin class...
So does anyone have a old pair laying around?
Thanks

Wish I could help, as I have been using SPDs for nearly 20 years, but I usually toss the old ones when I replace'em. Here's what would be funny: Get yourself an old pair, then flop over on your side during class. "Whoops, wasn't able to unclip...got an old pair of clips and they just don't work like a new pair..." Dale, Where do you spin? The reason I am asking is that my wife teaches at The Spinning Gallery downtown. They have a cycling specific class on Tuesday nights at 6:30.
Her classes are TOUGH and def worth the ride downtown!

By grooves I mean the ones that are made in the sole by the nubs on the bottom of the cleat as it's tightened down. It might work. Anywho, I've got a used (and I mean really used) few sets of SPD cleats at Chain Reaction. Let me know if you're interested.

Trey
I spin at Omni - usually at the Evans location. I like to go twice a week but this season has been real spotty - in fact have not been other than Monday nights at 6:30. They're good classes but like any, you have to have the discipline to crank up the resistance. D.

Ted... are the screws different? It was my understanding that the screws where the same and just the clips were different?

Sorry for the slow reply Quiver. Hope it's not too late. Most brand cleats use different bolts. They usually differ underneath the head of the bolt in one way or the other.
