Races start at 10:00 with the Masters race..
Becca and I were on the news Monday during lunch talking about cyclocross and the race. This course is the best we've had.. I think the best in the state for sure.. It's a true Euro cross course.. Only thing missing is the mud.. Flows really well and smooth..
Please everyone come out to Lake Olmstead and ck it out.. You won't be disappointed.. ;D

Oh I am there for sure. Can't wait. I am pissed I left my cross in Ky to ride the roads up there.
I may race it on my mtb, but will prolly just watch. I've never been to a cross race before and not sure if showing up to race would be a wise thing to do.
Will it be this same time next year? If so, I'll have my cross bike back here to do it.

I also have never been to a Cyclocross race.... How does it work? I see in the flyer that a race is 45 minutes, so I assume it is multiple laps around a short course? How often do the riders dismount and hop the "sawhorses"?
Thanks,
Bryan

How's the volunteer stuff going? Have you gotten a good base and enough for the event?
We will be doing the Bartram work party Sat but are thinking about showing up Sunday for the event (spectate!).

Just wanted to tease those that have not seen or been to a cross race. I went to the last one here at Augusta State and took my camera gear to shoot the race. Here is a pic of one of the ACC guys. Its really a cool event and everyone should go and attend. By the way to those who raced last time, I was the guy laying on the ground just below the baseball field at the little uphill switchback. Please everyone come out.. Bring the family.. Bring cowbells or any other noise maker you have.. Plenty of picnic areas and good racing.. If you've never been to a race, then why not come to this one..
Yes, it is multiple laps on a 3k course.. I'm really trying to grow the event. Yes, we plan on the same weekend every year... This is a good course, probably one of the best in the state if not the best.
Again, bring the family.. It's a family friendly venue for sure..
Notice, parking will be on the grass field at the park with the only entrance open to cyclist on the Millege Rd. entrance.. Parking marshals will be there..

The Cowbell App for the Iphone/Blackberry sounds like a good idea.

Excellent day at the park! Ross, as usual, you did a great job as well as all the volunteers. Loved the course even better than the ASU course. Hopefully next year I can compete amongst as well as support the local team.

Watch this video and learn how to get over logs you can't ride over in the woods! It's the part where the riders dismount and very fluidly run over the barriers in the cyclocross race.
