Looking forward to tomorrow! Went into downtown today to check out the ironman expo. There were bicycles everywhere you looked!
Should be fun volunteering tomorrow. I'll post some pics afterwards.
Good luck to anyone who's racing!

We just left downtown at 5:15pm. The last athlete was about to finish the last 1/2 mile. We had a great time helping out and all the athletes seemed really appreciative!

I had fun working at the second water station with other SORBA CSRA members. I met some nice folks who I did not know before and got to know some folks I've seen around alot better than I did before.
It was good to help others do their thing for a change.
We left that country road cleaner than it has been since....prolly forever.

I had a great time Sunday. Lots of sick bikes. I handed out a boatload of water bottles, fixed a flat, MacGyver'd a couple of tire boots for a guy in his first tri (on a borrowed bike), and just in general had fun. Like Bill said, nice to help others at a race for the first time. Here's a few pics I took: Water bottle prep station: Gatorade prep station: Lots of Gatorade. We had a few gels too. Great pictures guys! Thanks for posting them!
It was amazing being there at Water Station #2. At first, I thought I would never get to hand out a Gatorade unless I was at the front end as the riders approached. Boy was I wrong!! My arm got tired from handing off so many bottles.
I've watched the Tour de France on TV and seen the Tour de Georgia in person. While these are great bike races, they have maybe 200 riders give or take a few and it doesn't take long for them to ride past you.
But this race had over 3,000 riders!!! And it took hours for them all to pass our station. It was absolutely amazing watching so many cool bikes roll past. I don't know what made me more envious...the bikes or knowing the riders are in sooooo much better shape than me!!
My advice to those who missed out on volunteering to man the watering station...don't miss it next year! It's a lot of fun and very exciting!
Be safe!
