I am getting back into mt biking after about 10 years of little riding (family commitments) and am toying with the idea of doing some racing. It is more for the challenge, pushing myself and just having fun. Just wondering what folks do for training. thanks -brianW

I'm kinda training for an endurance race right now...the race is Oct 27th. I'm just riding as much as I can and running when I can't ride. I try to ride/run 6 days a week, and take one day to rest.
I'm no expert though...

Ride, ride and ride! I know this might ruffle some feathers on this site but if you have a road bike, ride it! It's amazing what kind of shape you can get into by riding the roads.
Also, make sure you recover after a long ride by eating or drinking the proper amount of carbs and proteins. I prefer Endurox but that's just me. I don't know if you are a big breakfast person but try to get in the mode of eating a well balanced breakfast such as oatmeal with fruit and juice.
Bottom line is the more you ride, the better shape you'll be in.
