My luck with purchasing jerseys etc. online has been poor, with sizing being erratic to say the least. As Michael D. mentioned on the NMBP thread, I always order at least one size larger and sometimes those are too small. 1. Does anyone know of a brand that is cut normal to large? 2. Any local stores that carry a decent selection?

Mark, you'll find that sizes vary with brands and sometimes within the brand as well. I've found Primal Wear and Pearl Izumi to be pretty consistent. The best thing of course is to try it on before purchase if you can. Also look for armpit to armpit measurements if offered when shopping online.
The Bike Patrol jerseys are cut larger to allow for layering over base layers in colder climates. As a result, they are about 2 sizes larger than what you would expect a size to be. I guess maybe that's a result of IMBA being headquartered in Boulder, Colorado where it's just colder.
Selection is sketchy around here and sometimes pricey as you probably already know.
Good Luck!

Big fan of Primal Wear. They have a really good selection in both 2XL and 3XL. Their jerseys are cut more generously than many other brands.
I bought my first Primal Wear shirt from Phil (CR). Really a big step above the low dollar Performance and Nashbar stuff. Since then I watch the PW website. They have a closeout section and you can get some nice shirts for $25 - $35. I also have some PW shorts, and they are really nice. I mentioned to Phil that perhaps he should carry them as a mid-priced alternative to the $50 junk and the $150 high dollar roadie stuff (that is, if you wear lycra).

I'm a pretty small guy, bout 5'7, 145 lbs, and I've had my fair share of jerseys that were way too big, but the Troy Lee Designs large jersey is great for me... not too tight, not too loose, and when I forget to bring an extra shirt for after riding I don't look like a complete d-bag when I walk into the gas station wearing it.

AJBW just got some Bellwether stuff that's loose fit. Had no problems fitting the big guys with their Sedona jersey. Priced round $50-$60 on average for the jersey.
Be on the look out for a new brand for the store in the near future. There stuff is all MTB, high quality, and priced right. The only hint I'm giving is no one else is, or will be, selling it. I'm stoked and I've only seen the samples. Stay tuned...

And for us ladies . . . .? Will your new line include ladies' jerseys?
I also love Primal Wear--fit rather well.

I will spend a couple of extra bucks to have the convenience of trying it on and being able to return it.

SV - clothing.
Ryder - Bellwether does not make bikes, just good riding gear since back in the day.
The subject of this thread was "biking clothing" right? ;D YC- Now you know we're gonna have some goodies for the ladies too! And this stuff gets KJ's stamp of approval! She might be more stoked than I.
Stay tuned as this new clothing line for AJBW, and the CSRA, will be revealed...

It was a lucky guess. I love FOX Racing stuff. This is me with my FOX motocross gear on. My race bike is a 1982 Honda CR480 that I race in AHRMA vintage events.

Excellent choice. Quality stuff.
Make sure you carry some of their gloves. Specifically some without padding (hint, hint). I have found while running Ergons that padding is actually not very helpful.

With padded gloves it felt like my grips were huge. I recently picked up a set of these. I like 'em so far, but I've only had a few chances to wear them. I'm pretty tough on gloves, so we'll see how well they hold up. They're light, breathe well, and non-padded - exactly what I was looking for. They're listed under MX Gear on the FOX website... I've had two pairs of Mechanix gloves, and they were awesome. 1 pair was non-padded, used them for over a year, and then lost them. They still had plenty of life in them. Also had a pair of the "impact" gloves (albeit an older design) for over a year, wore them out. My only complaint with the Mechanix stuff is it's kinda hot, especially in the summer. When I BMXed my gloves never lasted more than 2 months.

just wait until your padded gloves wear out, i.e. padding is reduced to next to nothin'
