I am planning to ride Mistletoe 7:30am this Saturday, 7/18. I know some people have never been there and thought I'd offer to guide. You have to put up with my dog. There is a $3 park fee. I think it is a fun trail with several challenges, not too many hills. I haven't been there in several months- does anybody have a recent trail condition report?

Wish we could make it JT, but we are taking the RV and bikes to Oconee Point SP this weekend to get some miles in at the trails near Issaqueena Lake. Hope you have a great turnout and a great ride. Bring lots of pine cones for Luke. MD

JT - I may join you if the weather is good. I'll post on here Friday to let you know for sure. And I'm cool riding with Luke - I never tire of the pine cone game

Just wanted to thank John, Dustin and Brian for allowing me along on the ride this morning. Also for putting up with my less then blistering pace. Very cool trail for sure. Also shot this short video of Brian making a quick stop at a creek crossing ;D. OK now that you have seen it I must extend my apologies to any crooked necks out there. Didnt realize I cant rotate video on photobucket Also a breif explanation of this is in order. As Brian was coming across this rock he was expecting Luke the energizer dog to move. Go figure this may have been the only time I didnt see this awesome dog not in constant motion all morning ;D That is why you see Brian making a rather unexpected departure from his saddle. We all had a good laugh at this and no one was hurt so all was well. Just made for some good comic relief on the ride. Thanks again guys for a good ride. Enjoyed it. Tom

It was good to finally ride with you Tom.
Mistletoe ROCKS!! It's one of my favorite trails now. I really enjoyed it. Lots of technical stuff, but 99% of it is rideable. Can't believe it's taken me so long to get out there. Very fun trail.
Thanks for being the guide JT.

Dammitt!! I figured with the rain last night you guys wouldn't go. When I stuck my head out at midnight the trees were still dripping.
Sorry I missed it, especially since there was a slower rider along.

I meant to do that! Very fun trail. I might have to rank it the most technical in the CSRA. Will be back.

Brian dislodged from his saddle? While riding? In front of witnesses? I may have to file an incident report on this.

That rock/creek crossing is on the new connector. I've never had the balls to try it.

The only tricky part is right where BW fell. You have to ride through some water, and it's slick, and you step up onto the bank. Hit it with some speed, pick the front wheel up over the wet section, and it's no problem. Riding the other direction I liked to wheelie off the bank onto the rock.
Speed is important. Spend as little time as possible on the wet algae covered parts, and don't try and steer in that stuff!.
Go slow, and hit the front brake on the wet slick section...well...watch the video haha.
That's a really neat feature. I want to try riding the rock dam when there's not so much water...
