Hey guys,
Man I know how to cause trouble! I just notice every time I go to FATS it is getting wider.I hate to admit but I have only been riding about once a month. Not riding it all the time I can see it getting wider.Alice and I have rode out west where the land is bare as far as the eye can see and the trail is at the most 18 inch's wide. I see why but do not understand way the trails here get wider and wider.
The trail quick fixes are just that. I for one do not see a problem with that.Until somebody comes up with a better idea and the time to fix them. The trail will never be prefect everywhere to everybody.

Excellent point Russell so........................ Hey folks Russell has been busy with baby duty and riding a bit more infrequently these days and has noticed something alarming. Perfect, classic singletrack is about 18 inches wide. That is the desired because it leaves less of a scar on the land, helps keep erosion to a minimum and just rides and looks better. How can you help prevent our FATS from getting wider and wider - - Ride the center of the trail if possible
- If you encounter a mudhole or water ride through not around it to avoid widening the trail
- Control your speed rather than running off the edge of the trail or leaving skid marks
- If you cannot ride an "obstacle" please get off your bike rather than ride around the obstacle thereby widening the trail
- Avoid riding wet trails as that helps create mud holes and tire ruts
- Etc (and there are plenty more we can post for folks to see)
- If you see another rider doing something that damages the trail don't assume they are just being a jerk - assume they simply don't know and
give them positive feedback rather than make an enemy
- Most importantly "Don't believe everything you think"
