Let's share our tick stories. Here's mine, and it doesn't even involve a mountain bike.
Last night I got home and did the usual. Me and my 2 year twins head outdoors to enjoy the swealtering humidity and heat. The way they scream to go outside makes one really think they love the heat and humidity.
So last night, I go out and do the chasing/kicking of balls and rolling of wheeled toys, and even shoot a few hoops. No big deal.
Fast forward to 1AM this morning. I awake to the feeling like something is crawling on me. I go downstairs to a well light bathroom and see what looks like brown dots in the area drawing my attention. Then one of the drown dots moved. Damn, I thought that is the smallest tick I have ever seen.
By 4AM, my wife and I had pulled some 100-200 ticks off me. From head to toe, in about every nook and corner was a tick. A tiny tick. The size of a pin head or a very fine point pen marking on a piece of paper.
Today, I found a half dozen more. I went to the doctor to make sure they were ticks and to see what he/she had to say about it. I got confirmation that they are ticks - the smallest they've ever seen. I was given a 14 day supply of doxycycline.
You gotta tick story? Or some insite into my story? Got a theory on how I got ALL the ticks and my twins got none? I figure I hit the nest or something with the basketball, and while shooting the ball managed to "pour" the ticks all over me.
I am almost glad to find out they are not lice or bedbugs.
