There's a bridge on Great Wall??? NO wait...there is a small bridge on Great Wall. It's not too far from the spot where I found that abandoned bike earlier this year. That is an excellent guess Brian!...but no.

Brown Wave. Not far from FS 661D. If going CW, you'd cross 661D, then ride past this within a few hundred yards.

DING!! DING!! DING!!! We have a WINNER!!! Yes Bill you are exactly right in identifying the location of the "Bleachers"!
Alex, tell Bill what he has won. John, Bill has won a Park Tool VP-1 patch kit that contains 4 round patches, 2 oval patches, vulcanizing fluid, and a handy piece of sand paper all in a nice plastic case.
Well that's great news! Congratulations Bill! This is a handy little item to carry along when on Bike Patrol just in case. I'll see you at next month's meeting to award your prize.
Well that wraps up another round in the "How Well Do You Know Your Trails?" game. How about you? Would you like to become the next winner? If so, just stay tuned and we'll have another trail feature for you to identify coming up shortly.
Thanks for playing!

OK riders, here is the next and last trail feature in the "How Well Do You Know Your Trails Game?". Yes, you read it right...this is the last one. It's been a lot of fun and I have enjoyed it but my work schedule is about to pick up and it won't leave me as much time to monitor the game. I think the only unidentified feature still out there is the "Original Privy Tree" on Wine Creek. Unfortunately, since noone found it and took their picture with it, we'll call it quits on that one. It's my hope that this game has inspired folks to go ride their bikes on our trails and enjoy the beautiful scenery we are so fortunate enough to have as our playground. Now on with the game!! Now take a good look at this one. I don't think there is anybody out there who hasn't ridden past this very spot! So this one should be quick and easy. Alex tell the riders what they are playing for in this final round of our game. John, the first person to correctly identify the location of this trail feature will win a FREE Nacho Mama's burrito of their choice at the next SORBA-CSRA monthly meeting held on August 11 th, 2009 at 7:30pm. WOW! That's a fantastic prize Alex!! If you ask me, those Nacho Mama's burritos are the best in the world! Way to end the game with a bang!! OK riders, take a close look at this one. Be the first to correctly identify the trail it's on and its location in reference to a mile marker, access road, trail section name, and/or power/gas line crossing and the burrito is yours!! As always...thanks for playing! Be safe!

Top of Skinny Loop, the only "technical" 90 degree turn, about 1/3 of the way out. Was very muddy this spring.

Well now who is surprised by this? ? Brian Williams has correctly identified another trail feature in the "How Well Do You Know Your Trails?" game!! And I barely got the thing posted and BLAMMO, he logged in, read the post, and identified it!! You are amazing Brian!! I love it!! OK my friend, I look forward to seeing you at next month's meeting and your burrito is on me this time! Well...not necessarily on me, that would be a mess. But you know what I mean! Thanks for playing Brian and thanks to all the rest of you who have played the game or just kept up with it. You all have made it a lot of fun! See you out on the trails! JL

That's the spot that needs the bricks badly. It was a mess the last two winters. Lots of clay and lots of water rolling thru that drainage.
If there is a list of things to do at FATS, getting bricks to this spot would be one of them. Perhaps this fall when it cools down. Then put them in the trail bed when it gets wet this winter.
John - thank you for starting the game.

This is the spot that's at the top of my list. I know the shortcut but it's still gonna be tough to get the material in there. This spot will get fixed, I promise.

That spot on skinny gave me one of the greatest spectacles of human-error mountain biking i've ever seen. i saw a guy go over there one day (pretty big fella too) and hes probably still picking mud out of his teeth

I think we need to use rock here and make this one of the best rock gardens you could ever ride.

Are you talking about softball size and bigger? I know somebody, but it will more than likely cost.

If we do rocks, lets try to find them in the area. Problem is we mined that area pretty hard when it was built. About 100 feet from this spot was a nasty mudhole that took about every rock we could find in the area.
To play devil's advocate, I think the rock garden will work fine for everyone going down this short steepie. But I wonder about gapers riding thru a rock garden then having to get up this steepie.
Another thing I'll say about this area.....there is another major armoring job we need to do near this spot. It is a spot that is kindy rooty, but in the winter gets pretty nasty. It's a little closer to the parking lot if going CCW on Skinny.
Getting material to this location is not going to be easy. I'll try to remember to scout this area for rocks we can use. If you're interested in helping with this spot, scout that area for rocks and lets see what we may have to work with.
