We're going to try and get some work done on Wine Creek again on May 2nd.
WE NEED LOTS OF PEOPLE TO SHOW UP!!!
We really need to get the trail in decent shape before the SMC.
Meet at 9:00am at the new Wine/Turkey parking area next to Key Bridge. Bring gloves, water, and shoes you don't mind gettting muddy (recommend boots).
You'll enjoy it way more than you think you will, I promise. See you then.

I think it's great that a second attempt to work on Wine Creek is gonna take place, but the Western Carolina Adventure Race is May 2, 2009. Racers will be traveling on wine creek by foot that day and we don't want anyone getting hurt or upset that a racer/volunteer ran into each other...Maybe the work party could be held on May 3rd, or May 9, 2009?

Kinda late to be asking for a change. Were you or have you done any work out there for your upcoming event? Just curious. Turkey Creek is in great condition with no work needed.

Kinda late to be rescheduling a race that's been on the books for 6 months. Yes, if you came out to work the last Wine Creek Workparty, you would have seen me.
I have been all through those woods and I know what shape the Wine Creek trail is in and like I said on the above post, my racers will be on foot while on that trail. They will ride portions of Turkey Creek and Modoc and surrounding forest service and county roads.

KanDo is a very active member of our group and has volunteered at work parties and events. In addition, his adventure racing organization complements our MTB club quite well.
Steve, you know we tried to schedule the work party well in advance so that we wouldn't affect your event, and would also help clear the trail for your event. Who would have known that we would have over 4 inches of rain in April and our work party would be flooded out?
Why the 2nd? Key people are not available on the 3rd or the 9th and 10th. We have to have a core group that will commit to ensure the work gets accomplished. As far as safety, we always try to be cognizant of riders and hikers on the trail. We will give your participants the right-of-way and be on the alert for their presence.
