(Apr 12/4:30pm) FATS Update!
Trails are in great shape! Might find a mucky spot or two, if so please stay in the middle of the trail. The foliage is already robust which always helps with drying out the trails. The high winds are likely to deposit trees and debris on the trails so heads up!

(Mar 13/3:00pm) FATS Update!
The trails at FATS are officially back open. There are some mucky areas, there are some areas with standing water to include about a dozen seeps that are still producing. But the majority of the trail tread is perfect. Please stay in the middle of the trail through any wet/mucky areas to keep the singletrack single!
The trails are opened and closed based on the condition of the most vulnerable trail. We are coming into the season of warmer temps and the growing season which typically equates to shorter and fewer closures.

Heads Up> Prescribed Burn - FATS South Trails!
We have received a notice from the US Forest Service, there will be a prescribed burn at FATS, south trails, in either the last week of March or first week of April 2024.
Plan accordingly if you were traveling into our area since we won’t get much warning. They will be waiting until conditions are optimal for the burn so it will probably be the day of the burn when we get word. These generally do not take very long and once the trails are checked to ensure there are not any safety hazards, the trails will be opened back up.
The prescription for a prescribed burn is correct relative humidity, winds, temperature and fuel moisture which is why the timing must be last minute.
Stay tuned for more updates! Please help spread the word!

Heads up all FATS trail users and please help spread the word!!!
People have reported items stolen out of their vehicles at both the main FATS and north FATS trailheads. In some cases the vehicles were accessed through unlocked doors and in other cases windows were broken.
This happens periodically in remote parking lots and the most important deterrent is to avoid leaving anything of value in your vehicle.
Some people even leave their vehicles unlocked and with windows partially down to avoid broken windows.
Please report any suspicious activity!
