Sweet. As a note, the racers in the southeast, which includes most of the folks that raced HK also try to squeeze a few other races in since it's a points series. Tsali is on June 2, Richmond on June 8 and Clemson on June 22. July is fairly wide open with Whitewater being on July 14. I certainly don't expect or think you should schedule the work parties around the race calendar, but if it is doable, it may maximize the participation from that crowd. I'll start promoting the June 1st date.

i'm one of the racers and really want to help out. However, I have a potential conflict the weekend of 6/1-2 and 6/8-9 (as do many other racers in the area). Do you have any further info on the second work session? Lastly, I'd like to forego any swag if I do make it on the 1st. Personally, I feel privileged enough having been able to ride HK on more than a couple of occasions. In fact, I have a few items I'd like to throw into the swag pool. Off the top of my head, I've got a couple of new tires, a new rear derailuer, and maybe a couple of other things as well. Hi, We won't schedule the next work party until we see how much work gets done on June 1st (we also have a bridge we need to rebuild on Horn Creek too). That said, I will PM you with contact information so we might be able to coordinate schedules. We've been posting work party information on this forum and our FB page. Thank you for posting, offering up schwag, and we'll be in touch.

Also, I'd like to help promote the 6/1 amongst the other racers in addition to the mail Andy sent out. Is there a Facebook page setup?

National Trails Day - HKSP work party/picnic Thank you to XTERRA Wetsuits for supporting our HKSP work parties by donating a big pile of their Race Belts (I hope we have enough triathletes to give them all away). I hear that triathletes love these belts, but for the mountain bikers, and maybe some trail runners...here is the description on their website: "Ready to race? Got your race number? Your race number easily attaches using simple lace locks. Your race number will float along your body movements, allowing you to race quickly. The adjustable buckle closure accommodates a broad range of sizes." SORBA-CSRA appreciates the generosity of XTERRA Wetsuits as we repair Lakeview Loop at HKSP. Please be sure to RSVP at www.surveymonkey.com/s/PCK3JKQ Thank you for your support.

Don't forget the Canal work party this Sunday May 26th at 8:00am. Meet at the Goodrich St gate at 8:00am sharp. We will all go in together and lock the gate behind us. If you are late, you can park at the Eisenhower field and walk in.
Bring gloves, water, bug spray, we will have the DR mowers, gas hedge trimmers, weed eaters and lopping shears. You can bring any personal tools if you would like to.
See you on the trail,
John Pilcher

See you on the trail. John Pilcher Awww...Mr. JP3, let me look in my magic bag and see if we can't find you a few tchotchkes to give away. Edit: I cobbled together a little schwag bag for you Mr. JP3. Your work parties at the Canal are just as important as the others around the CSRA.

The survey monkey link leads me to a page that says "thanks for taking this survey" Stella will be coming too. But I can't get the survey to sign her up. I think you can only take the survey once, from the same computer. If you can, try another computer (i.e., at work) or email me and I'll manually have her added to the RSVP list.

...a custom wheelset built around I-9 Torch Classic hubs. This $900 wheelset, built to order, will go to a lucky volunteer, who works two or more work parties at HKSP. Again, this is a truly custom set of wheels, and you can pick the color hubs you want (Black, Silver, Blue, Gold, Orange, Pink, Purple, or Green). The green hubs pictured were for a customer, and are already laced up and on their way to Texas.

How early will trail work start? (Can't seem to find it anywhere) I know everything starts at 9. Should have asked... Will anyone be there working earlier? My daughter's birthday party is early that afternoon

Updated poster! Hey folks we are stuck at 44 volunteers and I know everyone is getting ready for the long weekend. We really, really need your help. These outer trails need to be maintained and cared for even if you personally never ride them. Would be a shame to go from saying we have 150+ miles of singletrack down to we have 30+ miles of singletrack (and it sure will be a whole lot more crowded)! Thanks!

All official info is up for the 5TH ANNUAL CCTT! See the first post in this thread (click here: sorbacsra.proboards.com/thread/3523/2013-canal-crown-official-info# ) Big thanks to Osprey for the sponsorship this year! First someone brought real number plates, and now there's an outside sponsor - this thing is turning into a real event!
