Rode Mistletoe Sunday, 9/9; forgot what a nice trail this is. The trail looks like it is used regularly. The main trail has some trees down- one section has 5 within 30 yards. I will call the park manager to ask about getting them cleared or if volunteers can help. The trail has some fun stuff, like the ravine and the rock dam, as well as more challenging creek banks. However, the trails are not overgrown at all. Even the trails into the camping areas have some nice scenery and one has a very challenging hill. For your $3 parking fee you get an indoor potty and a nice color map.

Rode Mistletoe Saturday, 11/18; the trail is clean. You need to ride this trail while it is dry. There are challenging features going either direction, counter clockwise is easier, I think. Ride it twice so you can ride the features that you walked the first time and then realized you can make it!

Rode Mistletoe Friday, 3/21; the trail is in pretty good shape- a few trees down, but not bad. You will get your feet wet! Still a fun trail!

This past winter, MSP Superintendant told me between 16 and 18 total miles. The new singletrack connector trail takes off from the Rock Dam Trail (Eastern side) up at the NW corner and connects onto the shown woods road which takes you out to Ridge Road and then less than 3 miles of pavement to the connector into the back side of Keg Creek.

I rode Mistletoe today (for the first time). It was a heck of a lot of fun and a nice change of pace from FATS. The trail is in good shape with only one or two trees down.
I am motivated to try some of the other non-FATS tails now!

The tread at several creek crossings has been improved and the back entrance trail from Ridge Road to the Rock Dam Trail has been cleared - trail in great shape.

Four of us rode Mistletoe today and I saw several other riders/cars in the parking lot. You can see on the ride post thread that the guys were really stoked about riding a new trail. The trail is in pretty good shape. There is one tree down about 1.5 mile cw that can be walked over. Dale's rear entrance trail is in great shape. The trail could use lopping and the one briar field is getting pretty close, but not as bad as Turkey at this point. Dale, your work on the one ravine was great- Brian and Dustin were very close to making it. Dustin and I also rode the white trail and it is clear, several nice rider trees. The park fee went up and is now $5!!

(Beginner Rider) Rode Mistletoe for the first time today with a friend. Very enjoyable. Met jtaylor and another rider (sorry, forgot name!) at the trail head as we were headed in. Luke the Lab gave me a pine cone tossing workout! The trail was in great condition after they had cleared it, including the spider webs. In the embarrassing department, I biffed at 2 mph climbing the side hill rocky section. As I was laying there swearing to myself, knee bleeding, pride hurting, a witness appeared, kindly advising me that there was "technical sections ahead". Ouch! I know everyone loves the FATS, for good reason, but I put this trail on par with Modoc (my fav) as a technical challenge for my level. A very pleasant butt kicking for a rookie.

Ozy....i agree totally on the pleasant butt kicking. That trail is great and a good challenge. Loved the ride and the company I had this morning. Tom

It's off of Ridge Road (near the 90 degree turn) After you go through the white gate stay on the left dirt road. i believ you ride it close to a mile. Trail is on the left. The connector will follow the creek up stream.

Go out Washington Road, turn left on Ridge Road, maybe couple miles past Keg Creek, go to end/white gate. Ride 0.8 miles downhill on left FS road, look for pink flagging tape. If you miss the connector trail entrance, the FS road ends in another 100 feet or less- opens up into a "swampy" area (at high water).

Thanks Brian & JT. After watching the video and reading the posts about the trail, my interest is greater than ever.

I rode Mistletoe with my 7 year old son back on July 11. We had a great time. It was his first real trail ride, and he did well on the technical sections. The trail was in great shape, except for a few trees.

When you break it down and compare the cost of parking o he cost of other forms of "enterainment" the $5 is really a bargain. There are only, that I know of, 4 places to ride that charge for parking. Lick Forks, Mistletoe, Bakers Creek and Hickory Knob possiblie. Out of those Lick Forks and Mistletoe have free areas to park. Hickory Knob I am not sure if they charge at the barn let a lone charge for day use. I have never ridden in at Bakers Creek so i am not sure about its fee policies.
I used to ski a lot in New England before moving. Each day was around $50. I am told it is closer to $70 a day now. Cost of a movie? Day at the ball game?
