Great response ! But I just thought it was kinda funny that it was almost exactly to the day one year ago that the other riders got lost . But we all need to remind ourselves that FATS is like no other trail system !(Awesome!) And these riders who have been getting lost ( the one's we know about ) obviously are somewhat "beginners" and just because we are so much more skilled and advanced than others ,we need to be a little more compassonite towards them and help them come along in the sport, not act obnoxious and ridicule them just because they got lost trying to take up the sport .When we get to the top , it's so easy to forget where we came from .

After giving this some more thought, this is a wake up call. We need to get the signs out there. No doubt.
But I am not giving these people a free pass and dismissing their own lack of prepardness for getting lost.
Finally, I would think a right wing(nut) site like Edgefielddaily.com to take the angle of personal responsibility. They probably didn't because they could make it look like it is the government's fault these people got lost. The signage isn't the only thing that sucks. These people's sense of direction and sense of personal responsibilty also sucks.
Now, we gotta get some signs out there...pronto.

Got a quote from Banacom Signs using our company discount:
6x9 Aluminum w/ reflective lettering $18.09 ea 6x9 Aluminum w/o reflective lettering $7.83 ea 6x9 Polystyrene w/ reflective lettering $13.23 ea 6x9 Polystyrene w/o reflective lettering $5.13 Ea
Lettering will be single-sided. I was not sure of the quantity or size so these are ballpark figures....... Also... their turn around time is 2-3 days depending on quantity and lettering

lotasports - right on. I really like the pronoun "we" better then "they" or "you" often seen when referring to something that ought to be done on the trails. And your assessment of Edgefielddaily.com was right on as well.
hyperflea - the signs have been ordered from the same company that the USFS uses. Since the USFS has to approve the signs, SORBA just ordered from the vendor they use.
I think the hold up now is two fold....
1. Waiting on the signs to arrive. 2. Purchasing hardware and posts for the signs to go on.
Hopefully #2 can happen as #1 winds down.
