More details to follow but mark your calendars as SORBA-CSRA rolls out the red carpet and hosts this major event!!
Baker’s Dozen – Go to the link in the www.sorbacsra.org website for up-to-date details on the Baker’s Dozen.
March Explore the Trail Series – The March Explore the Trail Series ride will be held at Wine/Turkey Creek the first weekend in March, more details to follow!
Trail News – The trails are generally in good shape and with the foliage off the deciduous trees, the views from many of the trails are at their prime right now particularly the ones near water! Since we put this out generally the first week of the month feel free to provide updates if you ride various trails!
Turkey Creek – Great condition, one non-rider tree down at mile 3 when entering from Key Bridge…..there is still a little foliage on the power lines and a few pesky bamboo “weeds” here and there but not enough to deter a great ride and not enough to drag the DR mowers in to mow : ).
FATS – Not an open trail, a work in progress, please do not ride this trail!!
Wine Creek- No recent report.
Horn Creek/Lick Fork - Great condition with one non-rider down in section 2.
Hickory Knob – Hickory Knob has two trees down on the Lake Loop – still has some juicy areas.
Canal Off-Road – The trail is in good condition.
Modoc – There are some trees down but the trail is in great condition to ride.
Long Cane – In decent shape considering all the rain but they are having a problem with a couple of persistent horseback riders so trail is sustaining some damage.
Baker Creek – No recent report
Bartram (Wildwood) - No recent report
Keg Creek – Shaping up nicely!!
Bartram Trail (Lake) – Great condition – one tree down between Petersburg & Lake Springs – odd angle.
Issaqueena - Great riding but this trail system is so extensive it will always be a work in progress for the Clemson area folks!
ORA Trail - No recent report!
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION – Special thanks to fellow SORBA member Larry Lynn of Allegra Print and Imaging – Larry has once again donated business cards for SORBA-CSRA as well as posters for the Baker’s Dozen.
Thanks to all the volunteers who continue to show up to build the FATS. This has been a very aggressive effort and the outpouring of support and participation has been greatly appreciated. If you haven’t already been out, come be a part of a monumental event – breaking new ground on a trail that is sure to be a star destination for mountain bikers all over the southeast and further once it is open.
