Time to mobilize some equipment and volunteers and get Horn Creek (Lick Fork) finished up! Brandon Steger did an outstanding job getting the ball rolling and we need to complete sections 2, 3 and 5 on this trail. We need a minimum of 6 volunteers to run the DR mowers on those sections, if we end up with additional volunteers we will fill in with the string trimmers to do a good job on this trail. If you can spare 3 or so hours we would greatly appreciate the help. Feel free to bring your bike along and catch a ride afterward. Bring a friend along too, that is a great way to introduce someone to the fun and camaraderie of trail work! This trail used to be the Baker's Dozen 13 hour race route and it is a fun trail. It actually has great input points so it is easy to break the trail up into manageable segments when doing work parties. If you can join us for this work party please contact us at SORBAcsra@gmail.comNever ride out at the Lick Fork Recreation Area, that is perfectly okay, come on out and lend a hand anyway! Thank you! We were already short volunteers for this work party but received word that there were trees down that will prevent us from running the DR mowers on the 3 sections of trail that need to be cut.
We did recon and there are 10 trees down. The good news is we have two USFS certified sawyers on the volunteer list, the bad news is they were assigned to run 2 of the DR mowers.
We desperately need 3 more volunteers tomorrow. They will be working with 3 other volunteers with the DR brush and field mowers to compete the remaining 3 sections of trail that need to be mowed.
Easy to operate and on the spot training will be provided.
If you can help email me as soon as possible at sorba.csra@gmail.com
Please pass this along if you know of anyone who might can help for 3 or 4 hours tomorrow morning!
