BEST DAM RIDE 2019
SUNDAY, APRIL 28, 2019 at 8:30am (registration opens at 7:30)
The Best Dam Ride is a fun, casual bicycle ride for cyclists of all ages and experience levels. Each spring, hundreds of riders gather at J. Strom Thurmond Dam at Clarks Hill Lake to enjoy a group bicycle ride that circles the lake, covering three counties and looping through both Georgia and South Carolina. For road cyclists, there are 29, 62, and 100 mile options making the ride fun for all intensity levels. For those who prefer mountain biking, there are also 5, 16, and 36 mile options on the historic Bartram Trail, sponsored by SORBA-CSRA.
Every year, the Best Dam Ride is able to donate most - if not all - proceeds to local charity organizations. This year, the Best Dam Ride will benefit the Augusta Urban Ministries, SORBA-CSRA, and the Liam Caracci Foundation. Included in your Best Dam Ride registration packet is a Dam Ride t-shirt*, water bottle, and wristband for rest stop access and post-ride lunch. There are rest stops set up at several locations along each route that provide riders with water, sports drinks, snacks, and other refreshments at no cost. A catered lunch by Motts BBQ is provided after the ride for all participants and volunteers.
*T-shirts are only guaranteed to riders who register by April 10.
