When: Sunday, April 2nd at 1:30pm Where: Horn Creek Trail in the Lick Fork Recreation Area What: A 6 mile loop through diverse terrain, not technically difficult but with some good climbs (for this area) This is an intermediate level trail but as long as you are a reasonably fit beginning rider don’t miss the opportunity to check this trail out. The terrain evolves over the 5 different sections of trail with a nice ride alongside Horn Creek! There will be ride leaders and sweepers so no one left behind. You do not have to be a member of SORBAcsra to join us so bring your family and friends. In the event the weather or trail conditions are not acceptable, the ride will be cancelled so watch for postings here! Here are directions to Horn Creek Trail (located in the Lick Fork Recreation Area) and where we will meet for this ride on Sunday, April 2nd at 1:30>
Directions from Augusta/Evans>
From the bridge on Fury's Ferry Road/28 crossing into South Carolina travel approximately 11 1/2 miles to Modoc, SC and turn right onto SC-23, travel approximately 9.4 miles and take a sharp right onto SC-230, travel just under a half mile to Lick Fork Road, turn left (there will be a sign indicating Lick Fork Recreation Area), travel for approx. 2 miles.
The entrance to Lick Fork Recreation area is on your right. If the gate is open> travel down the road to the pay station ($3 entry fee), then turn left onto the gravel road and follow it till the end and you will be in a paved parking lot. (from the bridge to Lick Fork Recreation Area will take about 30 minutes).
If the gate is closed park there near the entrance and we will ride down the gravel road a short distance and access the trail between section one and section two!
Directions from North Augusta>
From the Exit 1 in North Augusta head north on SC-230/Martintown Rd for approx 16 miles, turn right onto Lick Fork Rd (there is a sign for Lick Fork Recreation Area), travel approx 2 miles.
