We are very sad to report the passing of Dale Parrott yesterday. Dale Parrott was a friend and fellow mountain biker (as well as a road rider) but he was so much more. He was a member of the National Mountain Bike Patrol, a USFS certified sawyer, a SORBAcsra officer, a tireless volunteer particularly on Keg Creek (with close friend Charlie Mock usually at his side) and Bartram, a supporter of SORBAcsra events and he remained a member even though he moved to North Carolina after he retired. His specialty/passion was bridges and he was very precise and exacting many bridges on trails in the area were constructed with Dale in the lead. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him. His smile was readily given and he was a kind and gentle spirit. Dale left this world after a road biking accident (road debris in a tunnel) on the Blue Ridge Parkway. He loved to road ride and he loved the Blue Ridge Parkway. Ride on Dale - peace and comfort to all who are mourning losing you. Here is a link to the obituary with information about the funeral services that will be held in Franklin, NC > Dale Parrott Our sincere condolences to the Parrott family and his many friends.
