Hello!
I am headed to the Grovetown / Augusta area this month to visit relatives. I will be there from the 23rd-28th. I have two days to ride during this trip.
I definitely want to ride FATS, as it is highly recommended by some riding buddies. I am looking for advice for my second day of riding. I don't mind driving up to 45 minutes or so. I have read the trail descriptions on the sorbacsra.org webpage and just can't decide.
I am also very intrigued by the Long Cane Horse trail as well, as I prefer long rides if possible (20+ miles)
Any help is appreciated! Also looking for a riding buddy if anyone is interested!
Thanks in Advance!!

Thanks in Advance!! Do the 49er Ride on the 23rd! Hits four local non-FATS trails, and is a nice long 49 mile ride. Details here: sorbacsra.proboards.com/thread/3724/49er-ride-onMake sure you check out the Connector Routes page for directions on longer routes, we've got a lot of options. On Weds. night there's a ride from the Andy Jordan's Bicycle Warehouse bike shop downtown. Ride leaves the shop at 6:30, ~3 mile spin to the canal trail, a few laps of the trail, ride back to the shop, done about 8:15. Mexican food afterwards in North Augusta.

This looks PERFECT! Quick question...what is the level of difficulty of this loop? I am travelling from Ohio, so I have been spinning in a basement all Winter. That would be considered a lot of miles early in the season for the trails I ride. Don't want to bite off more than I can chew Thanks!

Some hills, but just typical stuff for around here, no big mtn climbs or anything. 50% of the route is on the roads, so you can use them to rest between the trails. And everyone will be given a map, so if you need to bail early there are ways to do it.

Bartram, Keg Creek and Mistletoe are close. I always have a great ride on those. Check out the trail tab for plenty of info on the local rides.

Hit me up if your in the area, I'd be glad to show your around our Long Cane Trails. In exchange for some Ohio farm land to bow hunt that is? J/k, most of the 32 miles we have cleared. The only prob is all the water we've gotten.

The only prob is all the water we've gotten. If I had land that was worthy of hunting, you would be welcome. My wife has "allowed" me two days of riding. I am doing the 49er Ride on Sunday and then was going to head out to FATS during the week. If she "lets" me have one more day, I will definitely hit you up. That being said...is anyone available to ride FATS the week of the 24th - 28th? I am hoping to do the whole trail system (37 miles? Is this doable in a few hours?) I am on vacation and could go anytime. Let me know.

A strava avg of 11+mph is usually good for a top ten, so that'll give you an idea of how long 37 miles will take you. I may be off some that week and could meet up with ya for a couple of trails.

Some of the faster guys I know aren't on Strava and are averaging close to 13.5mph for all six loops. Da-dang!!

Da-dang is right! In that case, yeah, all of FATS is possible in a "few" hours.

I will let you know which day I am headed to FATS once we get there...maybe we can meet up? Here's a pic of me so you'll know who to look for.

I am thinking about heading to FATS on Thursday. I am hoping from the weather and trail reports that it will be a little drier than it is now.
Let me know if you can join me and what time would work best.
