Turn Left onto Horse Creek Rd.
We will be at Horse Creek Rd and Gone Away Rd. There will be tables and a port-o-jon. The location is on a hill. Gone Away Rd is a private road. You can park just inside the fence, but do not go past the horse trail sign.
I have a meeting Wednesday, September 25 and will find out last minute details. I will be driving the supply truck to the location. I will be on location at 7:00am. Therefore, you can get to the water station at 7:00am but no later than 8:00am.
We may not be done until 2:00pm and there may not be anything to eat, therefore you may want to bring something to eat for lunch. I was told we will be provided lunch, but again, I would bring a sandwich. But, we will be very busy and the only time you will have to eat may be before 9:20am.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am.
There will be Perform bottles, water bottles and energy bars to give out. The Perform & water will be placed in a trash can with ice. We have to remove the cap, remove an inner seal and reinstall the cap. I was told the cap is a sports top, like a bike water bottle. We may also have to remove a protective cover from each water bottle, not sure as of today. We will have over 3,500 bottles. (how many covers can you remove in a minute?
) We also have to cut the energy bars and bananas into 1/3.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am.
We will have five tables that will have water on two, Perform on two and energy bars on one. The tables will be spaced about 75 feet apart. We also will have water & Perform at locations that will be stacked. We will have 4 to 5 people for each table and 1 to 2 people at each stacked location. You will stand along the road with your arm stretched out (you do not want to get hit by the bicycle) with a bottle. You will yell "water" or "Perform". The rider will then take which ever bottle. You will then get another bottle and do the same. They expect approximately 3,000 riders. SAFETY MESSAGE – Do Not Stand In the Road. Stand on the side of the road. The riders will come to you.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am
There will be 1 or 2 people at the energy bar table. Each rider can only have 1 or 2 bars. I am told most riders will stop for the bar, but may yell they want one and we are to give it to them.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am
When handing-out a bottle, you will hold the bottle from the bottom. The rider with make eye contact or point at you. You will reach the bottle out to the rider by holding the bottle on the flat of your hand (you balance the bottle in your hand). As the rider reaches for the bottle, you will make a sweeping action with the direction the rider is going. This will make grabbing the bottle easier for the rider. If you drop a bottle, leave it in the road!!!!!
When giving out the bar, hold the bar at the top with two fingers. The rider with make eye contact or point at you. You will reach the bar out to the rider. As the rider reaches for the bar, you will make a sweeping action with the direction the rider is going. This will make grabbing the bar easier for the rider. If you drop a bar, leave it in the road!!!!!
SAFETY MESSAGE – Do Not Stand In the Road. Stand on the side of the road. The riders will come to you.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am
There will be a ham radio operator and bike mechanic at our location. The event truck will have our supplies and stay at our location. There will be sweep vehicles behind the last rider. We are to cleanup the area, pack-up the truck and then we are done.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am
I will be at the water station at 7:00am. I am not sure about cell coverage, but call me if you get lost 706-833-4507.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am

Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am
As of today, looks like we will have 18 people. I was told that we can display our SORBA banner. You can bring a chair, but last year we did not have any time to sit down. You may want to bring gloves; we have to clean up all the water bottles and trash. Last year we had around 10 large trash bags of used water bottles.
Be sure to be at the water station by 8:00am
