Rode Wine today with Nevin and Ted. It is a mess. Much of the trail along side the creek was completly underwater from the creeks overflowing it's banks during the recent rains. Tons of debris and silt are littering these sections of the trail. It will take some chainsaws and multiple hands to clear most of these areas.

Always wanted to go out to Wine Creek when the creek was high so this evening seemed like the perfect time, there had just been rain after days of rain and we were sure the creek would be full.
This video starts at the first creek crossing coming from the 283 side of Wine then walking back towards 283. I have a couple of pics I will post later if I can find that creek crossing at its normal water level. Amazing the amount of water that churns through after these storms.

I rode a little ways into Wine today. No water like before but the trail is a mess. I can remember when it was rebuilt and how goo it was. Then it was flooded in 2003 and again this year.

Finally had the chance to get a look at WC today. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. There are about 6 large trees that need saws, pretty evenly spaced along the entire length. One large tree at about 1 mile from Key Rd is the most difficult to climb over. The worst part is that in several places the trail is starting to disappear from lack of use, especially beginning at about 2.5 miles, after the trail leaves the creek bottom. On the way up, I found myself riding off into the woods several times. Even with the leaf cover, the tread is firm & fast.

Thanks for the update (glad to get a viability report on Wine), we'll get that on the list of work for our certified sawyers!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Wine is the best I've ever seen it right now. We got out there today and cut over 15 trees with help from the Zeasers. Even if you're not a mtn biker, you need to get out and hike or run this trail. It is one of the most primitive and beautiful in the CSRA.

Thanks to all for taking some time out of a great Sunday to do some trail work. Good to hear that Wine survived this year. Long term, would like to see at least one bridge replaced. Later, Daniel - trails coordinator

Banks, Chuck and I rode Wine on Saturday. Thanks Becky, Nevin, Joy and Tom for all of your hard work. The trail is in great shape, it just needs wheels on it and maybe a rake, lol. Lots of leaves down on parts of the trail, some times hard to follow.

What a beautiful trail...hope it gets more wheels!

I rode Wine, Turkey & Modoc on Sunday. Wine was the only trail that did not have new trees down. Maybe January ETTR?

I will suggest this to the EtTR committee. Thank you for your efforts to keep Wine clear.

Thanks for all the hardwork on wine. It's in great shape right now. Rode out and back from the key bridge and it was nice.
