The 2011 Canal Crown Time Trial Series is in the books! 28 racers showed up tonight to do battle on the canal singletrack for the last time in 2011. It wasn't nearly as hot as it has been lately, but the trail wasn't as fast as expected.

Once again, BIG "Thank You!" to everyone involved - racers, volunteers, spectators, bike patrol, everyone - thank you! The series is definetely a team effort to put on, without help it wouldn't happen. This has been the biggest and best Canal Crown yet (over 100 race laps!) - if it gets much bigger we'll have to start limiting the number of racers.
The awards party is tomorrow night (July 1st) at 7pm at Andy Jordans Bicycle Warehouse - all racers and volunteers are invited (yes, you can also bring your significant other).
PLEASE RSVP SO WE KNOW HOW MUCH FOOD TO GET!! RSVP via e-mail to info@andyjordans.com
Last year's Canal Crown was to raise money for singage for the canal trail....well, fast forward a year, and that's almost a reality now. We hope to have the signs at the awards party tomorrow night.
Also: In memory of Johnathan Tisdale - the very first Canal Crown King (who's short-course overall time has yet to be beat, by the way) - we will have a donation jar at the awards party. Not exactly sure where that money will go yet, but it will be a good cause - like donate it to the Livestrong Foundation in his name. If you have another suggestion for where to send the money please let us know. The jar will be at the shop for a few days after the party as well, so if you would like to contribute but can't make the party, just swing by when you can.
