Just a reminder to sign up for the 20th Annual Lock to Lock Ride. The pre-registration deadline is this Thursday, but if you can register by Wednesday that will help Greg at Fireside out a lot. We're going to have some delicious BBQ, a prize raffle, sno-cone stop for the 37milers, and plenty of rest stops along the way. This is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Also, thank you very much for the bike patrollers that are helping us out. You guys were a big help last year and we appreciate your efforts again for 2012!
Here's the link to all the Lock to Lock info including a route map...
This event is always so fun. A true melding of many kinds of bikers in our community. Always see a lot of old friends. Good weather today and great turnout. Drew will have to chime in on the final tally I know there were a lot of preregistered riders but an ample amount of last minute participants as well. Here are a couple of shots before the start and a video of the start.
Video of the start!
SORBA-CSRA had 6 patrollers out on the route and I don't have a final tally but I know they fixed at least 12 flats, made several mechanical adjustments (seat position, loose cranks, tightened grips, etc), and administered first aid for a few abrasions!
Here are a few of the shots!
They had a great piece (videos, pics, interviews) on the ride at 10pm tonight on Fox!
Thank you to everyone who came out for the 20th Annual Lock to Lock. It's hard to believe that the ride has been going strong for 20 years! We ended up with just shy of 300 riders and everyone seemed to have a really good time.
