100% of the trail is rideable as of this afternoon. Threw lots of chips. Those dead pines in section three need to fall, and soon.

I'm gonna try to ride a couple of laps, how exactly do you get to the parking lot?

This might be TMI but here goes - even if coming from Martinez or EVans area it is just as fast to go down and jump on 20 and head over into South Carolina. Exit on the first exit - exit 1 - which is for 230..... Turn left onto 230.
You'll stay on 230 north for about 15 miles and you will see a sign that indicates Lick Fork Recreation Area on the right - just past that turn right on Lick Fork Road (if you get to 23 you've gone a little too far). Go down Lick Fork Road about a mile or so and the entrance to Lick Fork Recreation area is on the right.....the sign for it is on the left.
Turn right and go down the hill ....on the right is the pay station - be sure and pay the $3 and display your parking pass. Just past the pay station turn left on the gravel road and follow it to the end (probably about 1/2 mile) - that parking lot is next to the official trailhead for Horn Creek trail and it will also be the center of operations for the Baker's Dozen.

Good turn out today! Thanks for coming everyone. A little over a dozen folks I guess?
I did 5 laps for 40.3 miles in 4:03. Fell once when a stick caught my front wheel, and dang near laid it out at speed on that tight left hander on the gravel road near the finish.
I will not be racing the rigid SS...it beat me up pretty good today, though as I got more used to it was less of an issue. And that climb on section 1 is tough when you're tired.
The weather was AWESOME. 39 degrees when we started, 66 degrees when we finished. First time I've used my arm and knee warmers in many months.
Good times! Looking forward to the race!
EDIT: Oh yeah, big props to MD and YetiChick for A) doing some saw work on Friday. B) bringing some very good cookies and sharing with everyone.
