Anyone interested in joining me for a few laps around the Baker's Dozen course in a few weeks?
How about we do a 1/3rd BD length ride, 4hrs and 20mins.
Start at 8?
Ride solo or bring your team and get a feel for what doing a team race is like (riding a lap then sitting for a while, then going out again is a more difficult than it sounds). Get a good idea what sort of lap times to expect on race day.
This is not an official SORBA sponsored ride, just some friends getting together for a day of fun. There will be no official clock, or anyone doing timing or keeping score. No winners or losers. Just a ride. Ride as many or as few laps as you like. You're responsible for bringing everything you'll need. Food, water, ect.
Anyone interested?

See you out there. Gonna get in at least two or three laps, and like you said, get an idea of BD lap times.

Just noticed there is a full moon on the 11th. Maybe that night (or one close to it) would be a great night for some night laps.

Guys and Gals, I made an attempt to ride Horne today after work....key word being "attempt." The recent weather has really done a number on the trail. I cleared anywhere from 7-10 small trees / limbs from the trail and cleared a lot of loose debris, and there is a lot of sawyer work needed. If you park at the small gravel lot behind the red gate off of lick fork rd, take a left at the kiosk. Approx. 3/4 of a mile in there is a section of trail that is covered by several large pines and tree tops that are down. It was so bad that I didn't even try to walk over or around. I'm not sure what the trail looks like past that point, I turned around and rode the trail clockwise until I hit one of the gravel roads and took it back around the the truck. I saw about 4.5 miles of the trail and it was covered in thick leaves and pinestraw washed by the recent rains, and really made of a soft slow going ride. There is going to need to be a pretty big work party to get this trail in good shape for the Bakers' Dozen.

Never know what the weather brings We rode it with friends Saturday and there were only a couple of annoying trees down. Guess the trail needs wheels and a chainsaw. It'll get done soon! MD

DG, we plan on riding Conyers Wednesday and Horn Creek Friday. Will make a plan of action once we figure out where the issues are.
I want to actually "ride" Sunday, and am typically not worth a darn after pulling the B.O.B. around and cutting out a bunch of trees. Would rather get the place clean Friday or Saturday.

Pretty sure I'm bringing the rigid SS, so he wont have any excuses ;D MD - I can't join you Friday or Saturday. Let me know if I need to bring my handsaw Sunday tho, I don't mind doing a little work on the first lap. Looking forward to the ride. Been a long week...it'll be nice to pedal around for a few hours. Hope to see a decent size crowd...this thread has nearly 300 views. EDIT: Just checked the weather...now I'm really stoked. Sunday's predicted low/hi temps are 47/72 - it don't get any better than that.
