When do ya want to do it? Cant be first weekend of the month. I am thinking Jan 24 or 25. Any suggestions? Where do ya want to ride? 1. Parks connector. Loop starting in one park and going into the other and back. Or a start in one park and end in the other. Estimated 50ish miles if we don't point to point, and alot less if we do. 2. Point to point starting at Modoc, to Turkey to Wine, to FS 609, around to Plum Branch (town, but not the trail ) and end in either Baker Creek or HKSP. Estimated 72 miles if all the way to HKSP, 53 miles if ends w/ loop in BCSP. 3. Point to point starting at Wine Creek/283 via Turkey, Modoc and into Ga across the dam and end at Petersburg Campground at end of Bartram Trail. 45 miles. Is a point to point feasible. If so, I'd like to try one.

From Modoc to Bartram Trail, will that be all paved road or FS road? 10 miles of paved road from West Dam to Modoc trailhead. Across the dam, cross HWY 28 onto Garrett Road. Left onto Red Oak Grove. Left onto Morgan, left onto Hwy 23. Left into trail. I asked ACOE for info on using some of their roads. The only feedback I got was that no one at the ACOE new of a series of roads that would take you from the DAM to close by Modoc. So, I chose this route to bypass 4+ miles on Hwy 28.

Sunday, January 25, 2004. Point to Point. Start: Petersburg Campground at the west end of the Bartram Trail (this is actually in Georgia, not South Carolina).
End: Wine Creek trailhead on Hwy 283. Miles: About 47. Singletrack: 28. (Bartram, Modoc, Turkey, Wine) Paved: 13 Gravel/Dirt road: 6 Rest stops w/ food/water:1 Non-mandatory donation to SORBA-CSRA: $15
We are gonna try a point to point this time. Which means we all have to work together to shuttle everyone at the start or finish, perhaps a little of both.
I'd imagine Thosaus will offer to lead rides on Saturday as well.
If you can let me know you are coming, how many people you are bringing, how many cars and how many bikes you can carry - that would be great.
Same as last time, you bring some food and we'll supply the water. We'll put the food out for ya. May need a little help w/ the shuttling.
Let me know.
Thanks, Bill
