;D
Thank you CSRA-SORBA for putting on another great event! Apologies to Dan and fellow volunteers if I acted pissy during the protest for 3 man competition. We rode hard for that victory and knew we won it. A decision could have waited until today but those guys knew the truth. Glad things got worked out and the others sucked up their pride and admitted their defeat.
Time to get the FATS built and start riding hard! Troy Team Black Moth

AWESOME EVENT!
I had a great time. I thank the volunteers that put in such an effort to make it go.
I took my brother and his son out there yesterday to ride....you couldn't even tell the event had taken place. No trash, no tape, all good. Trail was in fine shape.
Congrats to our local winners....we call them Team Chuck Norris in the 4-man and Troy Willard in the 3 man class. Troy - where did you find those two ringers???
The two man race coming down to the wire was exciting. Congrats to Co-op and Du-op for second place in 2-man (on singlespeeds all day to boot). The team that beat them had one highly experienced and saavy expert racer that turned 13 or his teams laps. The Ops made them work for the victory.
I gotta give props to Milo Metcalf. He showed to help out for a few hours and stayed for 15+ hours. For a guy with a seperated shoulder it was beyond the call of duty.
The reception I got at 11:10PM at the finish line was overwhelming. I felt like a domestic (sp?) in the tour getting some local glory before going back to fetching bottles.
Thanks to all involved. It was wonderful.

Bill- those ringers all are from the big family I like to call the Milledgevegas clan. What started off as a small hole in the wall bike shop (Bike Tech>Oconee Outfitters) I worked at in college has turned into a Dynasty. Props to my old friends Bill Gibson, Bud and Janice Merritt (former owners of Oconee Outfitters) for promoting the sport in middle GA and raising some serious 'ringers'! We couldn't come up with a name so Matt and Charles both like my idea- "Team Black Moth"
I agree with you on Milo- what freakin' trooper!

Sorry for me being such a bonehead. I indeed thought you were Linell. However, I admire anyone for riding that thing solo. Boochie is in fact Linells better half. I'll study some more mega memory tips before I post again. Don't want to confuse anyone else. Homer

Hey Namrita - Boochie is what they call Tony. They've tried to explain it to me, but I still don't understand the name. I just chuckle everytime I hear it because it sounds so goofy!! The race saturday was soooooo much fun!! Thanks to all of you guy and gal volunteers who did such a wonderful job staying out there all day!! Even though there was a goof in the computer and the results weren't post until later, you all still worked hard all day and deserve a pat on the back for all of your time and effort!! AND thanks for the cheers Milo....it was great to see ya again!! What an fun course. I can't wait until next year's race! Although....my quads, triceps, and deltoids can. I can say that I've never met more friendly people at a race before. Even the hammerheads were nice! Thanks, CSRA, for a great time!! Linell

Thanks all, and see you again next year.

If I read the SORBA Forum correctly......
My four man team got beat by the solo winner. So did every 4 person except one.
We did 19 laps, good enuff for second place in 4 person (I think). We finished our 19th lap right at the cut off, our lap was the last lap that counted.
So, that means that Ed O'Dea did 19 laps and had to finish before we did.
Amazing.

Thanks to all that made this event possible. It was a good one. Sure there were some issues, but nothing that can't be ironed out for next year. 100% single track would be good......and the girls should get as many pint glasses as the boys cause they kicked butt.
Thanks to who ever picked all my gel/bar/banana wrappers up by the stop sign. I stopped by on my way out to get them, but most were already gone.

Awesome Race! You guys from the "Bluegrass" state rock! Paul, that gift will come in handy on a cold, blustery night. Good job Troy, Bill and the rest of the CSRA contingent for representing. And you too, Milo, for leading the volunteer effort for as long as you did.
Horn Creek, you held up well. RF

Bakers Dozen was fantastic as usual. Always a great early-season indicator as to just how out of shape I've become over the winter Thanks to all who made it possible !!!!!!!!!

I'll add my thanks to Daniel Allen, Robert Burton, Milo Metcalf, Kevin Stich and everyone else who kept their noses to the grindstone while the rest of us played. It's funny, but I never feel like I'm ready for this event... I pay dearly for my lack of training about 1/2 way through section 3 every lap, I get yelled at at least once, I'm useless the day after, etc, etc, and yet the bottom line is I always have a blast.
Informal Poll: How many of you dodged, or ran over Joe Unger's tire pump in the right hand turn about a mile into the first trail section, and how many laps did it sit there?
Later, Bryan B.
