well azdrawdy did you and your wife get my application in? Yep, you are in. Your climbing will improve greatly when you get your new Giant and get your legs extended. Your mom mentioned camping. Keep in mind that there are two sites remaining: 2 and 44. Forty-four is wayyyyyyy too close to the dump station! Grab site 2!

Since you're riding solo, simply finishing at all is something to be proud of. 13 hours on a bike is something most people (myself included) can't do.
Finishing top 10 would be huge.
Also, be sure you don't wreck and get hurt. A simple slip of the foot got me injured and caused me to drop out of my first race. It sucked. I don't recommend it lol.

does anyone think that knowing that this is my first race if it is good that i make the top ten in this race? Only you know what kind of lap times you are consistently turning at the Lakeview Loop. You don't need to post it here. I would expect the lap times at HKSP to closely mimic what the guys/gals have turned at HC during the previous BD races. So, based on that, it will probably take a lap an hour to get into the top ten. If you can average that for thirteen hours, you should be good to go, and yes, that would be an accomplishment! There's your goal.

Pace is your friend in a 13 hour races.
Be the tortoise, not the hare.
I'll be the first to tell you there will be solo riders there who can ride the my fastest pace I can go for one lap.....all day long for 13 hours. I doubt there are more than a few of these riders, but a 1-2 for sure. The solo winner will ride more laps than some 4 rider teams. It always happens that way. Some people are just freaks and they usually come to events like the BD to assert their freakiness.
