Thirty-two paid. More than the SO or I had expected this early. Good sign! This is the last update I will publicly post until we are down to 25 openings remaining. If it is like previous years, our mailbox will start filling up in the next six weeks. Early February though late March. Of course, that was when the BD was held in late April... When are you signing up? Next Sunday? MD

Been trying to put a 4-person team from here in Columbia together, but everyone keeps saying yes and then backing out. Its starting to tick me off a little bit. Might just have to register solo instead, though I'd really rather hang out and heckle.

Did some looking today at Reserveamerica.com. The campground at HKSP for the weekend of the Baker's Dozen is almost full. There are maybe a dozen sites remaining. Keep in mind that the weekend of the BD is NOT the primary weekend for the Masters, and it becomes pretty apparent (at least to Michael) that mountain bikers are filling up the campground area. Here we are with 45 signed up for the BD as of today and less than a dozen sites left...Guess there's also Baker Creek SP, Elijah SP, etc! If you plan on camping and want to stay beside the course, you may want to jump on one of the remaining sites. This should easily be the best BD yet! MD

Question: Will people be allowed to stay overnight in the transition area? I've been assuming we need to move down to the campsites after the race, but staying set up in the field Saturday night would be much easier.
And what about Friday night?

We have the barn area rented starting Saturday morning. Friday night is not part of the permit or rental agreement of the facilities. The possibility exists that it could be rented out to someone else on Friday.
The permit for the field includes the use of the field for riders/spectators during the race, but is not a camping area--it is a day use area of the park. A big part of the reason we changed the venue from Horn Creek to Hickory Knob is due to the availability of more campsites and/or cabins and lodge rooms.

Anybody had any trouble with Active.com? One of my team mates tried to register about a week ago but couldn't. I haven't heard back from him so I have no idea if the situation was resolved.

My team's definitely not sponsored. We're not trying to win or anything, we're just in it for the fun.
