6 out of 8 sign posts are now installed at the canal. Me, Drew, and John P. all meet up at 7am this morning and spent four hours digging post holes, fighting one-way screws, and dodging yellow jackets. Apparently Drew is best at the dodging part, he's the only one that didn't get stung. I only got stung once, John got stung several times. The only two left to install are at the southern entrance by the RR tracks and the trailhead sign at the southern trailhead, by the ponds. We'll get those in sometime. We also still need to cut the excess post off the tops. Headed towards the main trailhead on the two way section. Close up. There's one of these at both ends of the two way section. This is the view as you head into the two way. At the Razor's Edge nearest the main trailhead. Other end of Razor's Edge. This was by far the easiest one to install thanks to soft ground free of roots and rocks. Only took about 3 minutes to dig the hole, predrill the post, install the signs, pour in the concrete, add water, cover with dirt. Easy easy. The trailhead sign. What a PITA that was. We tried to remove the old sign and reuse it's posts. That didn't work, we couldn't get it off the post without tearing up the posts. This is also where the yellow jackets were. Digging the hole for the trailhead sign took forever thanks to all the rock in the ground. Might have taken over an hour, but it's up!

The last two signs are up! Again, John Pilcher is THE MAN - he skipped riding last night so he could haul in all the materials so we could do the last two. Thanks John. And thanks to MD as well for letting us borrow the post hole diggers.
