There will be an ultra trail run on Sunday, 29 May. 7 AM to sundown.
The course for the 55 mile is a double loop consisting of a 50K figure-8 loop followed by a 23 mile loop, same loop in reverse without doing the cut-through trail, plus a short out-and-back from the picnic pavillon by the lake at Parson's Mountain Recreation Area in Sumter National Forest. The 50K course will go from the start/finish at the picnic pavillon and cover only the figure-8 loop.
Based upon my experience with trail runs at FATS, the biggest impact to mtn bike riders is probably parking.

A half dozen or more down trees to deal with on the trail. I rode almost the entire outer loop today. Trees down are b/n H and metal bridge. Near the metal bridge needs to be mowed soon. Lots of posien ivy in there too.
We had enough of that, so we skipped H to I. Another large tree or two down b/n J and B (the sign just outside of Fell).
First time I've ever just ridden the outer loop and not any of the trail that crosses the outer loop.
Trail is in great shape other than some trees that need to be cut out.
