Nice pics. Nice bike.
We prolly need to check the condition of the two stringers under those 2 pieces of cedar. I love that bridge.
I like how Big Rock CCW climbs up thru 4-5 distinct bowls. More noticeable in the winter when the views are better.

Great pics Neal. That tire looks like a skidder tire, if that area was ever logged, then it's most likely left from then. The log bridge there is one of the sweetest things I have run up on while riding a trail. Simple, functional, unique, and elegant all at the same time. The first time I saw it, I had to stop to admire it. Not something you expect to see out in the middle of the woods, that's for sure. So how does the new bike compare to the old one? Great choice there by the way, sweet bike.

I love the new bike- so much lighter, so much more responsive and efficient. It eats climbs for breakfast, and glides down the hills - smooth as butter. Its amazing how much a few lbs difference makes. I also took the clipless plunge with this new bike, and ill never look back. So much more power- I recall saying, during my first ride out on the, ha ha - what was i thinking before! Also upgraded to Ergon CG3s on this bike, and to be honest they have made more of an improvement in my riding than any other single piece of equipment. They are AWESOME on climbs. I can take climbs before that would have just destroyed me, and they dont hurt me nearly as much with these. They look kinda goofy i admit, but they rock going up big hills-

Just did two laps of Big Rock (one in each direction) After I am not sure which direction I like better. Second lap rode up to the tower to have one long descent. Big kid smile all the way down to the lot, shoot almost kept riding down the road.

I think I prefer climbing the east side (going CCW) though. Maybe. Both directions are really fun.

Big kid smile all the way down to the lot, shoot almost kept riding down the road. The section on tower from the tower down to the tower/big rock intersection and on big rock - basically the entire left hand side going from the big rock down to the parking lot - are mandatory riding in the CSRA. Definately the best spots at FATS and puts an ear to ear smile on my face everytime. I am riding big rock and tower on wed with a friend if anyone wants to come out and join, maybe around 530 or 6. hopefully it wont be too hot. send me a text if you want to come ride.
