It's a shame, I work like a mile away and I've only ridden it once. Need to change that! It's a tough ride actually. Lots of steep rutted out climbs w/switchbacks at the bottom, so you have zero momentum. I spun out and had to do some pushing on my SS when I rode there.

Can the area's maps be combined so that one map it is able to be scrolled to see relative distance between different riding areas? That way someone unfamiliar with all the different areas could get a "big picture".

The problem is it only lets you show so many tracks at one time, then starts moving stuff over to Page 2. We could do a PDF that showed them all. And that's in the works You can also look at the trailhead map to get an idea

That way someone unfamiliar with all the different areas could get a "big picture". Doug King had this on the old site. Not sure how he did it. But he basically had a map if every trail, then he put those maps onto a larger map one could scroll over and click on the trail. The individual map for that trail then popped up. Not sure how he did it. But that was the old website with perhaps different software. But I'd ask Doug about it. It was a good feature, I thought.

DG: I wonder if you can put hyperlink in each of the trail head icons to open the corresponding Google map from the sorbacsra website?

Looking at the trailhead map is a good idea. At least you'll know where they are in relation to each other. One map covering all and being able to look at each trail would be the whipped cream AND cherry. It's just over my head.

If so, open them in GoogleEarth (rather than Google Maps--look above the map) and they'll automatically import into your Temporary Places. Right click-->save as will put them into your My Places. Then you can view them all at the same time. Haven't tried this, but it should work. Or when you open to GoogleEarth you also have the save as option, which will let you save the .kml files directly to your drive. Then you can open into GoogleEarth from there.

Yes, opening all wanted files in Google Earth would allow you to see all information at once (tracks and placemarks). Just download all files and zoom out.

If someone has the time... lets create a CSRA trails map using scribblemaps.com/The site is awesome. There are endless options on here. You can import your gps files (gpx or kml) (multiple trail systems on 1 map), then change to topo views etc... drop tons of icons, push pins, etc... all on the same map that can be saved, exported, jpeg'ed, web embedded etc.. Change from Google maps to ESRI to see a nice clean topo view. You can draw shapes, add text, add symbols, custom logos.... If someone has the time, you could create one awesome CSRA trail map! Any Takers?

Here is a complete KML file of the listed trails in this thread. I have a strong background in GIS and I have access to ArcGIS. I can create detailed maps from GPS information as needed, and convert it as necessary to KML and other mapping platforms. Compiling these trails and re-exporting them only took about 15 minutes, so feel free to point me towards other sources you all have and your tips for this current map!
