Here is a map of the log outs on Turkey Creek. #15 is the largest diameter tree I have ever seen down on any trail in my life. It is quite the tree. All the numbers are one or more log outs. Mostly must one per number.

Are any of these cases where the canopy is blocking the trail, or are they just tree trunks that can be climbed over?

I rode last Monday and some of the ones marked were there. At the time none of them were "canopy" or tops of trees.

i rode yesterday and there were alot of big trees down. Some you could walk over with a bike and others we had to walk around.
Of course I fell one of the smallest logs on the trail just as another rider was coming down the trail. LOL
Am I not used to 'true' singletrack if I were to say the trail seemed a little overgrown?

Am I not used to 'true' singletrack if I were to say the trail seemed a little overgrown? Typical Turkey/Wine/Modoc/HornCreek Trail: not overgrown, at all, YET. A few face slappers, but nothing wearing out your calves. It will need the normal mowing/lopping in a month or two. Watch the work party thread. MD

Four, well nearly five, hours of work got us to the 3 mile takeout point. We tackled some big'uns. I was done. Took pavel back to the Price's Bottom parking lot, where we started. Will hit it again Saturday with some friends. Plan to finish it then. Hopefully will be able to get in some riding after... MD The machine won... Another mess:

That is the largest tree I have ever down on on trail in my life. Thank you.
You should go in to the 5 mile point and get #9 - it's big and laying across the trail in two places. Then ride to the end and get 8,7,6,5. The one marked rider? is all by itself and really isn't a rider unless it is either notched or something is built on both sides of it to make it a rider. The latter would be cool...but someone has to do it in a safe manner.
