Met up with Trent in downtown this afternoon when he got off work. We took the tow path out to the singletrack and got in a few loops. Here's some pics. At the base of the rooty climb out of the trailhead. Hero dirt means you can really rail the corners... ...and there's plenty of them on the canal loop. It's really really pretty out there right now. No big climbs at the canal, but several really steep short ones. Choose your line carefully on Razor's Edge or you'll end up in the river. Trent got a slow leak in his rear tire because he's still using tubes. so we headed back to downtown. Did I mention it's really pretty out there night now? We played around on the rock crossing under Riverwatch on the way back. Trent seems to enjoy his new big wheeled full suspension ride. We set up a new line over the rocks with a nice little drop at the end. Back down the tow path (the gnats are out in force by the way) It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Nice pics! I was out there yesterday also for an early afternoon ride. One thing to be aware of, the SNAKES are already on the trail. I saw 2 yesterday. I thought we would get another month before we would have to worry about that.

We didn't see any snakes, but there was plenty of dookie! Seems to be getting more popular for dog walkers. Changing a tube out of a tire covered with dookie spots: not fun.
The rocks, on the other hand, are fun - I've been wondering how hard it'd be to create a line that arcs up/down the rocks right under the bridge.

I hit the canal singletrack around 3, came up on a rather sketchy looking fellow walking an enormous German Shepherd, which may be your culprit. Needless to say I came around a bend and startled all of us. I waited until they walked well off of the singletrack and into the woods before I passed. Afterwards I made pretty good time, as nothing motivates you to pedal harder than the fear of being nipped from behind by that big canine!
