SORBA/CSRA Meeting 01-18-11
-Treasurer's Report -Members: 171 -February Explore the Trail: Feb. 5 at Hickory Knob State Park, 1:00 p.m. -April 30th: Will participate with Mistletoe State Park for their spring event. We will put up a tent and host a ride. -Equipment purchase: New D.R. -Membership Drive: During April, we will put up tents at FATS and Bartram to work on increasing our club membership. Goal: 225 members by the end of the year. -GA Trail School and Crew Leader Training: Jan. 15-16, and 29th, and again Feb. 12-13, and 26th. -In the process of setting up a Google Calendar for events. -B.O.D. meeting and Summit in Brevard, NC, March 25-26. -National Trails Day is on June 4. We have invited the UpState SORBA chapter to join our chapter for a ride and cookout at Long Cane. -Andy Jordan's Time Trial: Friday, January 21. -National Bike Patrol: Looking at getting some members trained to become instructors. Classes will also be offered at the B.O.D. and Summit in March for anyone wanting to become a NMBP member. -Baker's Dozen: October, 2011 -Trail markers to be installed at FATS. -New Trail Coordinator: Daniel Allen. First work party is Sunday, January 23, 1:00 p.m. at FATS. -USFS wants a MOU w/SORBA. -Chain Reaction: "Dollars for Volunteer Hours" expires the end of February.

Thanks for posting. That's alot going on. I wish I had been at the meeting. Hope to make Sunday.
The Summit in Brevard is going to be fun and the best riding east of the Mississippi.
Is the MOU with usfs local or regional....sorba csra or all of sorba?

MOU--Memorandum of Understanding.
The USFS approached main SORBA and wants to develop a Memorandum of Understanding with SORBA. I believe it will cover trail maintenance, along with a plan for future trails--I don't have any details.
